A beautiful haute couture evening gown in gold and crystal beaded black velvet and white satin and labelled Emilio Schuberth Roma. This extravagant gown was worn by Dinah Krongold of Melbourne when sitting for her portrait painted by Sir William Dargie. Emilio Schuberth was the premier Italian couturier in the 1950’s when he created lavish gowns for such notable patrons as Queen Soraya of Iran, Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, Rita Hayworth, Ingred Bergman, Bette Davis, Brigette Bardot, Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida.
