Description

A fine Late 17th or early 18th century English embroidered crewel work panel. Elaborately worked in coloured wools on a linen cotton twill background. The elaborate Tree of Life pattern with scrolling branches, foliage and flowers with parrots and squirrels amongst the exotic leafy branches. The panel is bordered and lined with fine green linen. This charming panel retains beautiful tones and colours and would originally have been a bed cover or hanging for a four poster bed. Circa: 1700 Height: 187cm Width: 208cm.
