Description
A very fine and unusually large 17th century Charles II oak gate leg table to generously seat eight. With twin gate-legs at each end and a total of eight baluster and bobbin turned legs. The wide ends on sled supports and the front stretchers deeply carved with foliate frieze. The top when open is 176cm in length and the width is 136cm. The top when the flaps are down is 66cm The top sits flat without any distortion or gaps between the joins. The whole of most pleasing grain, colour and patination. Circa: 1670.
