A very fine Spanish 17th century walnut vargueno with original iron escutcheon and hardware. The interior opening to reveal an elaborately fitted interior with and arrangement of ebony drawers of various size with each inlaid with ivory and or tortoiseshell. The three larger drawers with ivory etched panels within and architectural arrangement. The vargueno sits on a custom made contemporary stand.
