A wonderful early 1950’s white silk dress and silk gazar coat ensemble by Emilio Schuberth Roma. The haute couture dress of off white silk flocked in in a design floral panels fading from cream to silver to charcoal and simulating appliqued lace. The pale ice blue silk gazar coat with three quarter length sleeves. Emilio Schuberth was the premier Italian couturier in the 1950’s when he created lavish gowns for such notable patrons as Queen Soraya of Iran, Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman, Bette Davis, Brigette Bardot, Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida.
