Description
A rare oil on canvas mounted on board cabinet painting by Napier Waller depicting the rocky outcrop and Darebin Creek below the Waller residence in Ivanhoe. The shadowy figure in the bottom left of the painting is his first wife Christian Yandall wearing her black painting smock. Waller is chiefly known for his monumental public artworks such as the murals, mosaics and stained glass as well as his prints but rarely painted oils on a small scale for Gallery selling exhibitions making this a very rare example.
